Life changing

 Perspective

A cockroach flew into a restaurant and landed on a woman. The woman started screaming, clearly terrified. Fear was evident on her face. Trembling, she tried to get rid of the cockroach with both her hands.

Her reaction was so intense that the rest of her group also became scared.

Somehow, the woman managed to shake the cockroach off, but it flew and landed on another woman.

Now, it was the second woman’s turn to continue the drama.

A waiter stepped forward to help. The second woman tried to get rid of the cockroach and eventually succeeded. The cockroach now flew and landed on the waiter’s shirt.

But instead of panicking, the waiter remained calm and observed the cockroach’s movements on his shirt.

Once the cockroach settled, the waiter calmly grabbed it with his fingers and threw it outside the restaurant.

While sipping my coffee and watching this amusing scene, I began to wonder: Was the cockroach responsible for the chaos?

If yes, then why wasn’t the waiter bothered? He handled the situation perfectly without any fuss. It wasn’t the cockroach, but rather the inability of those women to handle the situation that had caused the trouble.

I realized it’s not my father’s yelling, my boss’s demands, or my wife’s complaints that upset me. It’s my inability to handle the situations they create.

It’s not the traffic jam that annoys me, but my inability to deal with the frustration it brings.

More than the problem itself, it’s my reaction to the problem that causes trouble in my life.

This incident changed the way I think. We shouldn’t react during tough times; we should understand the situation and respond. The woman reacted, while the waiter understood the situation and found a solution. Reactions are impulsive, while responses are thoughtful.

This is a beautiful way to understand life. People who are happy aren’t happy because everything is perfect in their lives. They’re happy because they have the right perspective toward life’s challenges.

That’s why, instead of getting angry, envious, hasty, or worried, show love and patience.

Because, "Whatever has happened was for the best, and whatever will happen will also be for the best."
