Educated, who?

What does it mean to be educated?

Who should we consider educated?

First, those who handle everyday situations in the right way and rarely make mistakes when it comes to making decisions and taking appropriate actions when faced with challenges.

Second, those who display magnanimity in their dealings with others, do not take offense at unpleasant behavior or words, and are as kind to their peers as a human can be.

Furthermore, those who control their joys, do not let difficulties overpower them, and face hardships with the courage that is inherent in human nature.

And most importantly, those who do not become arrogant when they achieve success, who do not lose sight of their true self; and, like a wise and thoughtful person, keep their feet firmly on the ground. They take pride not in the lucky fortunes but in the accomplishments born out of their innate talents and intellect. This tendency to find joy in such things is nurtured in them from childhood.

Socrates said, "People who possess not just one or two, but all of these qualities, and who have learned all these things, are truly educated in the fullest sense of the word."
