Introduction to the Roman Empire

   Foundation: 

Rome was founded in 753 BCE. It transitioned from a monarchy to a republic in 509 BCE and later became an empire in 27 BCE.

   - Geography:

 Located on the Italian Peninsula, the empire eventually expanded across the Mediterranean, covering much of Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.
