The Mistake of Youth

 The Mistake of Youth

**Goal**

Once, a boy saw a very wealthy man and decided to become wealthy himself. He worked hard for many days to earn money and eventually amassed a substantial amount. During this time, he met a scholar. Impressed by the scholar's knowledge, he decided to become a scholar and the very next day, he abandoned his pursuit of wealth and dedicated himself to studying. Just as he had begun to learn the basics, he met a musician. He found music more attractive, so he stopped studying and started learning music.

In this way, a significant portion of his life passed, and he neither became wealthy nor a scholar nor a good musician. He felt deeply sorrowful. One day, he met a great sage and shared the reason for his sorrow. The sage listened to his problem and smiled, saying, "Son, the world is very alluring. Wherever you go, you will find something or someone attractive. Make a firm decision and stick to it throughout your life, and you will surely achieve success. Otherwise, you will keep getting entangled in the world's distractions. By constantly changing your interests, you will not make any progress."

The young man understood the sage's advice, set a goal, and began to focus on it with dedication.
