Q.1. How is human resource different from other resources like land and physical

capital?

Answer -1.Human resources are the the workforce/working population,while physical are

machine,tools,land buildings etc.

2.Human resources can use physical and other resources,while physical resources cannot make use

of their own.

3.Human resources have the knowledge, skill,technology and developed mind while physical

resources do not have this quality.

Q.2. What do you mean by vicious cycle of poverty ? Write any three points.

Answer- Vicious Cycle of Poverty

i.A poor family can not provide proper education and medical facility to children.

ii.In lack of education, the productivity level of the children do not improve.

iii.After growing,they do petty work and get low income.

iv.They remain poor and this cycle continues further.

Q.3 What are the various activities undertaken in the primary sector, secondary sector and

tertiary sector?

Answer- 1.Primary sector includes agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishing, poultry

farming,mining, and quarrying.

2.Secondary Sector or Manufacturing Sector,includes Industry and manufacturing etc.

3.Tertiary Sector or Service Sector include Trade, transport, communication, banking,

education,health, tourism, services, insurance etc.

Q.4.What is the difference between economic activities and non-economic activities?

Answer- Economic Activities : The activities through which people earn money or means of

livelihood,arecalled ―‖Economic Activities‖.

Example : Agriculture,Industry,transport etc.

Non-Economic Activities : The activities through which people do not earn money or means of

livelihood,are called ―Non-Economic Activities‖.

Example : Helping Poor,Giving Donation etc.

Q.5.What is Market and Non-Market Economic activites?Write with example.

Answer-1.Market activities and 2.Non-Market activities.

1. Market activities involve money paid to any one who performs work for pay or profit. These

include production of goods or services including government service.

2.Non-market activities are the production for self-consumption. Like farmer

Produce crops for own family.

Q 6. What is the role of health in human capital formation? Write briefly.

Answer-If a person remains unhealthy,he/she can not develop/acquire skill,technical

knowledge,education.Thus his/her productivity level will be less.

(i) Investment in health,increases the childs‘ physical and mental capability.

(ii)Investment in health,make people healthy.Thus it allow the people to acquire

knowledge and skill.

(iii)A healthy person can get education and training to increase their productivity level.
